Becky Saeger

Marketing Strategist, Advisor and Board Member

Becky Saeger is a respected executive, marketer and advertising expert with over 25 years experience leading and advising businesses and brands.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Charles Schwab, Becky revitalised the Schwab brand and was the architect of the integrated “Talk to Chuck” brand platform. She was responsible for all of Schwab’s marketing, driving growth through a period of unprecedented challenges in the financial services industry. In 2010 she was honoured as Advertising Woman of the Year by the Advertising Women of New York and named one of the Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times.

Before joining Schwab, Becky was EVP Marketing for Visa USA, where she led brand strategy and all of Visa’s advertising, promotions, digital and direct marketing, sponsorship marketing and Visa Marketing Consulting for member banks (1997-2004). While she was head of marketing, Visa was inducted into the American Marketing Association Marketing Hall of Fame.

Prior to Visa, Becky was Senior Vice President and Director of Account Management at Foote, Cone & Belding San Francisco. In her eleven years at Ogilvy & Mather New York, Becky was responsible for the award-winning campaigns “Do You Know Me,” “Membership has its Privileges” and “Portraits” for client American Express. She led the global implementation of these campaigns as well as efforts for Unilever’s Surf and Dove brands, and has won more than a dozen EFFIE awards in her career.

Becky serves on the Board of Directors of E*Trade Financial Corporation, and on the Advisory Boards of Turn and MarketShare. A past Board Chair of the Association of National Advertisers, she is a charter member of the ANA’s CMO Council. She serves on the marketing committee of the San Francisco Symphony and works with several other non-profit organisations.

Becky holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Muhlenberg College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, photographer and writer Tom Graves.
