Less than three months after the OpenRTB Consortium was formed to improve and accelerate the adoption of real-time bidding (RTB) through the creation open industry standards, it has announced several major milestones including the addition of more than seventy new members.
The OpenRTB Consortium was founded by technology leaders representing both the demand and supply sides of the digital advertising ecosystem. In addition to Turn, members include DataXu, MediaMath, Admeld, PubMatic and the Rubicon Project. The Consortium’s initial goal is to develop open and standard to address one of the industry’s most time, cost and labor-intensive processes: managing publisher and advertiser block lists. The standards are fully operational across the consortium's member companies and being adopted across the ecosystem at a rapid pace.
Maureen Little, VP of business development of Turn, participated at the OpenRTB Roundtable discussion at ad:tech San Francisco. Greg Sterling of Sterling Market Intelligence led the discussion on the consortium’s vision and the future of digital advertising.
